killarney

well - i got an unexpected two days off as i worked a 12 hour shift on wednesday - so the timing was perfect as my friend claire was going to killarney and doing the ring of kerry tour on thursday and friday. i joined her and we spent many many hours on the bus.

Aside from that we saw sheepdogs doing their thing, drank irish whiskey, saw the "Lady's View", a madonna on top of a mountain, a pair of kittens on a lamb's back, and ate a fair amount of chocolate.

the town of killarney itself is only remarkable for the national park which borders it and which you can begint o walk through - its got a depressing lack of pubs, and the only pubs it has are hotel restuarant type pubs where they serve you dinner and then kick you out. we ended up at a golf pub which served cakes.

i've now seen two of island's peninsula's - still have to take a couple of day tours out from galway - will i fit it all in before the incessant rain begins?!!

rain and cold

seems like its starting to rain more again - i am just getting over a cold - its haorrid having to fold sheets while you'e sneezing - i was wondering if i was passing on all my germs to the guests - i half expected them to all leave couching the next morning after breakfast.

i am working a 12 hour shift tomorrow as my boss is going shopping with her kids in limerick - not sure what the havethere they galway doesn't but i guess its good to get out of galway once in a while. as i am doing this thursday and friday cos i scored two days off. so going to the ring of kerry and killarney with claire from new zealand - i haven't left galway for two months - so its about time i saw a bit more of ireland!

time goes on

Hi all, whoever reads this

keep on going to the beach but its always cloudy these days. getting dark earlier too - but still having some mild humid weather.

applied for a job as runner at element productions - they are making lassie at the mo. whilst i can stay in my guesthouse job till the end of my visa - i'd love to work inthe film industry obviously - they just would have to extend my visa...which i would have to convince them is no trouble.

don't you just love it when you discover you have more money than you thought you did? makes those boots you're paying off on lay by soooo much sweeter

cheers
